I Started at UCF fall of  2016 Terrified of any and all of the physical arts. Even more so of the rigorous prerequisites I would be required to take before entering the graphic design portfolio review. Convinced I could never enjoy any sort of drawing, I dreaded the start of my drawing class in the spring for months. It was not too long before I choose my spring schedule that I realized no one benefited from my choosing to be miserable, I especially didn't. How could I learn and improve, make the most of my time, and make portfolio worthy work with such an attitude? It was then I decided to enroll in the notorious Robert Rivers drawing one class and made a promise to myself.  I would treat drawing and all of the physical art classes I dreaded as I treated the design classes I loved.

It took me many hours in the studio, the dedication of many UCF professors, and enough homework drawings to fill the studio floor but I eventually made work I felt I could be proud of and my hate for the physical arts faded away. I am so appreciative that I was able to witness the passion, drive, dedication, and skill that the UCF art department possesses. I appreciate the time these professors were willing to give me, and the fact they never gave up on even the least interested students.
